Justice Teaching at Mary Help of Christians School
In 2006, former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice R. Fred Lewis began an initiative to provide young people in the State of Florida with basic knowledge about the American justice system and better understand the basic principles underlying our constitutional institutions and structures. Jason has been a part of the program for several years now and was recently paired with Mary Help of Christians School located in Parkland.
On January 20 and 21, Jason visited three (3) classes at the school to discuss the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The 7th graders learned about the origin of the Bill of Rights and how each of the rights interact with each other. An article in the school newspaper can be viewed here.
Jason will be returning to the school on February 9 and 10 to visit three (3) sixth grade classes and discuss how laws are written and interpreted.
